WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THIS ADVENTURE TRIP :

This safari will take you to Murchison falls national park situated in North West of Uganda and it’s the largest national park in the country. The park is bisected by the famous Nile River into two sections namely north and southern section, the park features a diversity of animals and bird species immersed in sprawling wooden and open savannah grassland. The park also boats on river Nile which crosses through this protected area.

DAY ONE: transfer to Murchison falls, rhino trekking

In the morning our experienced driver guide will meet you at the agreed meeting point at exactly 7:00 am and he will brief you about this safari, you will then embark into a 6-hour drive to Uganda’s biggest national park. We shall have a stopover at Luwero for roadside barbecue, eats and refreshments followed by a visit Ziwa rhino sanctuary a proud home of the only wild rhinos in Uganda situated in Nakasongola district.

You will be handed over to well-trained rangers and enter the territory of the southern white rhinos on foot. This activity will last for 3 hours. On this trek, you will get the opportunity to watch these endangered, magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

Past rhino trekking, we will proceed to Murchison fall national park, before reaching we will have a stopover at Kabalega dinners for our lunch. We will then proceed via Karuma where we will be able to view numerous stubborn baboons lining up along the road. Continue the drive as you view the beautiful landscape while occasionally sighting warthogs and other wildlife species. We will finally approach Paraa where we will check in at Sambiya river lodge followed by freshening up, relaxing and wait for our dinner and overnight.

DAY TWO; morning game drive, afternoon boat cruise

Very early in the morning at 6:30 am our driver will pick you for a game drive to the northern section of the park. This very early drive is a great time for sighting nocturnal animal and other predators before they return to their hideout. The aim of this game drive to the north is because the northern section of the park is more endowed with game compared to the southern section, therefore you will have higher chances of seeing a variety of wildlife namely, elephants, giraffes, lions, hyenas, leopards, and warthog.

At around 11:00 am we will return to the lodge for our late breakfast followed by relaxation. We will then have our lunch at 1:00 pm followed by an afternoon amazing launch cruise that departs at 2:00 pm from Paraa – upstream to the base of the falls. The Nile River is deal for great wildlife that comes and quenches their thirst into the Nile waters, warthogs and buffaloes are spotted wallowing on the river banks After hours of cruise, you will board off and take a hike to the iconic Murchison falls for breathtaking view of these beautiful waterfalls, we will then return to the lodge for freshening up, dinner and overnight.

 

DAY THREE; morning boat cruise, afternoon game drive

After breakfast at 8:00 am, we will slop to Paraa for another boat cruise downstream to the Nile lake Albert delta, this circuit provides the best chances in Africa for sighting the elusive shoebill stock with a variety of other wildlife such as hippos, elephants and many other bird species habiting in the papyrus within the Albert delta hence a memorable trip one shouldn’t miss.

On return, you will relax and wait for your lunch followed by an afternoon game drive through the park. Expect to increase your game count as you spot more other wildlife, in the evening we will return to the lodge, freshen up, relax and wait for dinner and overnight.

DAY FOUR; chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Kampala

Very early in the morning, you will have your breakfast at 6:00 am and embark into a 45 minutes’ drive to Budongo forest for chimpanzee tracking which starts at exactly 7:00 am, here you will meet at the information Centre then be briefed and led by skilled ranger guide to search for the mighty giants In the forest. Past 3 hours of the activity, you will return back to the Information Centre and then drive back to Kampala. We will have our lunch in Masindi. Following lunch, we will proceed to Kampala.
